Pink Mile Rosé
Pinot Noir loves life on the cooler side, and the cool, prolonged spring of 2017 seemed to suit it just fine. When the weather warmed up in the summer, and we went 83 days without precipitation, its flavours developed, and concentrated, nicely. A warm fall allowed us to let the fruit hang on the vine and pick it when it was just right – not a moment too soon or too late. The 2017 Rosé is made from 100% estate grown fruit. This vintage we gave the fruit a nice long cold soak with prolonged skin contact [10 hours] that produced, kind of counterintuitively, a paler wine than in 2016, but with an interesting, textural mouthfeel.
